Cookies

Analytics with Matomo

To analyse how our site is used, we operate the self-hosted open-source analytics software Matomo (matomo.sumyou.com). All processing takes place exclusively on our own servers; no data is shared with third parties. Matomo is configured for data minimisation: your IP address is anonymised immediately (2-byte truncation), no cookies are set by default (cookieless measurement), and your browser's "Do Not Track" setting is respected. Recognition cookies are only set with your explicit consent via the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time with future effect. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in needs-based design of our service) or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where you have consented to cookies.

6. AI-Powered Features

This website uses AI-powered features (e.g. recipe search, meal planning, fridge scan). The following data is processed in this context:

Fridge Scan

When you upload a photo for the fridge scan, this image is transmitted to an AI service (Anthropic Claude) for analysis. The image is used only for the analysis and is not stored permanently.

Semantic Search

When using the semantic search, your search queries are transmitted to AI services for processing. These queries are not linked to your person.

7. External Services and APIs

Anthropic (Claude API)

Voyage AI (Embeddings)

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse how the site is used (e.g. pages viewed, time on site, approximate location). Your IP address is anonymised (IP anonymisation is enabled). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Google Analytics is used solely on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We use Google Consent Mode v2: without your consent, no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is sent to Google for analytics purposes. We maintain publicly accessible profiles on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest (providers: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and Pinterest Europe Ltd.), where we publish our own content such as recipes. The icons in our footer link to these profiles. These are plain links only: we do not embed any social media plug-ins or tracking pixels from these providers on our website, so no data is transmitted to the networks when you merely visit our pages. Only once you click such a link and move to the respective network does that provider process your data under its own responsibility and privacy policy. We have no influence over this.

YouTube videos (click-to-load)

For some recipes we embed a matching cooking video from YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Ltd.). Videos only load once you actively click the play button ("click-to-load"): until then we show only our own recipe image and transmit no data to YouTube/Google. When you click play, the video loads via youtube-nocookie.com; your browser then connects to Google and Google may process data (including your IP address). 8. SSL Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser's address bar changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.
